Roses are Red, Violets are Blue- I Love These (Flower Infused) Skincare Products and You Should Too!

Cleanser Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser: I’ve mentioned the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser a few times before, so I won’t harp on it too much, but I will say that this gift from the glossier gods works wonders for my skin. Infused with rosewater, and comfrey root extract- which soothes and prevents stress on the skin, the Milky Jelly Cleanser is as good as it gets. And it doesn’t hurt that it smells like rose petals wither! (Click Here for 20% off Your Glossier Order!) Toner Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel: In case you can’t tell already, products infused with rose tend to treat my skin real nice. And one of my favorite rose products? The cult classic Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel. This is an exceptionally soothing toner that won’t leave you feeling dried out or dehydrated like many other toners do. Made with rosewater, organic witch hazel, and aloe vera, the Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel will leave your skin blooming. Facial Oil True Moringa Lavender Facial Oil: The next step in my skincare routine is facial …

The Best Face Masks for Perfect Skin

SEPHORA COLLECTION Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying: There’s nothing as confidence crumbling as waking up and looking in the mirror only to be faced with a zit on your chin that could double for Mt. Fiji. Whenever I’m having a flat out bad skin day, I always turn to my SEPHORA COLLECTION Mud Mask Purifying and Mattifying. With 3 key ingredients of Zinc, Copper, and White Clay, this mask is a miracle worker at absorbing excess oil and ridding your pores of accumulated dirt and grime. As Sephora so adequately puts it, this mask is your BFF when it needs a detox.   2. Fresh Rose Face Mask: On the other side of the face mask spectrum, we find the oh so famous and oh so effective Fresh Rose Face Mask. While the Sephora option is great when you need to deep clean your skin, the Rose Face Mask is essentially a tall drink of water for your face. Infused with pure rose water and real rose petals, the Fresh Rose Face Mask is probably …

My Current Beauty Wishlist!

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleaner: I’ve been lusting after quite a few Glossier products as of late due to the sheer simplicity of their line and their appreciation for the natural beauty of women. One product in particular that I’ve had my eye on has been the “Milky Jelly Cleanser”. While this is my “wishlist” I will admit that I literally recieved this in the mail yesterday and tried it out for the first time about 5 minutes ago. So for any of you wondering– NEW HOLY GRAIL FACE WASH. Fiona Stiles Sheer Sculpting Palette: There are really only two contour shades that I use and love (the MAC Shaping Powder in ‘Sculpt’ and the Kevyn Aucoin Contour Powder in ‘Medium’). That being said, I’ve been on the lookout for a few new shades that would switch up my routine. I’ve only heard good things about the Fiona Stiles line and the colors in her Sheer Sculpting Palette look simply magnificent. Josie Marn Vibrancy Foundation: While there have been mixed reviews in the beauty world about …

My At-Home Spa Day Essentials

No matter how picture perfect your life may be, it is simply inevitable that long days at the office or in the classroom result in stress and exhaustion. Personally, I have anxiety and often feel overwhelmed with the stresses of daily life. While anxiety or stress is by no means a good feeling, I have (over the years) found an at home routine that helps me unwind, and melts any feelings of worry away. Today I am going to be walking you through my 4-part method for a stress relieving, at-home spa day that never fails to relax. Part One: Destress Bubbles: When feeling overwhelmed, I start off my night by soaking in the tub. When your tense, stressed, and overworked body enters the warm water, your muscles instinctively relax- resulting in an instantaneous feeling of calm. This is the first step to a tense free night, and a peaceful nights sleep. Essence: To enhance the effects of your bath time, incense is a great option. Ever since Ancient Egypt, incense and essential oils have been used to treat anxiety, and …

The BEST (and most affordable?) Skincare Tool Out There

Skincare can often sound like a foreign language. With different skin types, different tools, different cleansers, and so on, it can be difficult for the everyday woman to pinpoint her exact needs and wants when it comes to a daily skincare routine. While I’m all about taking great care of my skin, I’m not as into spending buttloads of money on products such as the Clarisonic or the Foreo Luna- which can range anywhere from $100-300. However, as I was browsing the aisles of Sephora during my lunch break (curse the person who thought it would be a good idea to build a Sephora next to my office) I stumbled across something from the Sephora Collection brand that caught my eye. Because it looked similar to the Foreo Luna, I was instantly drawn in. And the fact that it was only $6 called out to me as well. The Sephora Collection Precision Pore Cleansing Pad is described as “A flexible silicone pad that gently massages the face and helps deliver deeply clean, radiant results.” Covered …

The Best Moisturizers for ALL Skin Types!

One of the biggest misconceptions in the world of skincare is that the way to combat acne and oil is by stripping the skin. And that couldn’t be more false. Whether you suffer from dry, normal, combo, or oily skin- one of the most important steps in your routine is moisturizer. I know that many people with oily skin tend to shy away from the idea of extra moisture, but in reality having a solid moisturizer will only aid your battle with oily skin. When you strip your skin of it’s natural oils without replenishing it with a daily moisturizer, your body tricks itself into producing even more oils in order to compensate for what you took away. Therefore, if you have oily skin, the best thing you can do for it is moisturize. The same goes for us dry skin girls. But I don’t think I need to tell you guys that moisturizer is a lifesaver, do I? Because skin care brands can often be tricky with their packaging and advertising (by targeting the product …

True Moringa Lavender Facial Oil

I’m just going to start off by saying this: I know, the idea of putting oil directly on your face is terrifying. But trust me, it has its benefits. Having always struggled with problematic skin, if you were to have asked me a year ago to put an oil on my face I would have straight up laughed in your face. But due to the oh so lovely weather (note the sarcasm) of Boston MA, my skin has been extremely dry and raw this winter, and it needed a little assistance bouncing back. On my quest for a boost of hydration, I discovered the True Moringa Lavender Facial Oil. After doing some intense research, the science behind facial oils really backed up this product. Natural oils have been determined to be the best way to restore the natural moisture and texture of skin, and even aid to the evening out of your skin tone.   The True Moringa Lavender Facial Oil claims to combine anti aging and moisturizing properties of Moringa Oil with the soothing …

One Love Organics Konjac Sponge Review

Exfoliating can be a tricky thing. Go too rough- you scratch your face, go too gentle- nothing gets done. For anybody who struggles finding a perfect exfoliator for sensitive skin, I gotchu. For the past 3 months, I have been religiously using what is known as a Konjac Sponge. This cleansing sponge, from the brand “One Love Organics” is made with pure konjac plant fiber, which is known for its ability to detoxify pores while smoothing the skin and ridding it of any makeup and dirt that has accumulated throughout the day. My whole life I have struggled with acne, and use highly invasive treatments that leave my skin dry, flakey, and dehydrated. Because of the state that my skin is often in during the winter (aka a replica of the Sahara Desert), I have always been drawn to harsh exfoliators that would rid my skin of any excess flaking or dry patches. However, by over exfoliating with extremely harsh products, my skin would often be left worse off than it began. When I discovered …

The Best and Worst of Beauty 2015 | What I Loved and Loathed This Year

Another year gone, another year of beauty hits and misses. If you’re like me and spend an unreasonable amount of time dedicated to makeup and beauty, then you will understand how it’s possible to have such an overflow of products by the time the new year arrives. But in a weird turn of events, the hits and even the misses come in handy for us beauty bloggers by helping to ebb away the inevitable writers block we all face at some point. Because I have a disturbing amount of makeup hoarded in my drawers, I decided to make the 2015 Beauty list a bit easier by choosing my favorite and least favorite products in each category. So get ready. You’re about to see the good, the bad, and the very ugly.
