Shopping My Stash | 5 Rediscovered Former Favorites

When it comes to beauty products I, like many others, can get caught up in new releases, trying new products, and pretty much everything new new new. However, sometimes I forget that I’m a hoarder of some pretty great makeup to begin with. Over the past month or two I’ve been making a serious effort to shop my stash and revisit some former favorites. So if you’re interested in seeing the products I have rediscovered recently, just keep on reading…

The BEST FOUNDATION I’ve Ever Used?? | Review

GUYS. As a self proclaimed foundation hoarder, this is a big statement. But I think I have found my perfect base. *internally screams* I’ve been hearing about the It Cosmetics CC Cream for years, but for some reason it never really called to me. That being said, it wasn’t until this year I really discovered my love for tinted moisturizers/CC Creams etc. but now that I’ve put it to the test, I just can’t put it down. For the most part I’ve only heard raves regarding this product, and any complaints that I’ve heard are simply that it’s too dewy for a particular skin type. Now, time to get to the nitty gritty: Here’s a quick rundown on my ~face~… Very Pale (I almost always purchase the fairest foundation shade in a collection) Extremely dry in the Winter, but combination in the Summer If I ever get oily, it is around my nose Hyperpigmentation from previous acne scars Occasional pimples, usually on the chin area Now that you have a general sense of my skin …

Review on the NEW Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint Foundation!

It’s time for a new foundation review! I’ll be the first to admit that when it comes to my makeup addiction, foundations are the products that do the most damage to my bank account. I’m utterly addicted. However, I justify my foundation addiction by telling my delusional self that it’s all for the blog. Either way, it’s time to get geared up one one of the newest foundations on the market- the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint. The Neutrogena Healthy Skin is by far one of my favorite foundations and is a product that I think is highly underrated in the beauty industry. With that being said, I had high hopes for this new addition and I’m here to tell you how everything panned out… First off, here’s a quick run-down on my skin: Very Pale (I almost always purchase the fairest foundation shade in a collection) Extremely dry in the Winter, but combination in the Summer If I ever get oily, it is around my nose Hyperpigmentation from previous acne scars Occasional pimples, usually on …

A Foundation that Fits EVERYONE?! Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Review

Over the past year or so, I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless—so naturally I decided to put it to the test. Before we get into the depths of this review, I thought I would fill you in on what my skin is like so that you have a better understanding of my Pros and Cons… Very Pale (I almost always purchase the fairest foundation shade in a collection) Extremely dry in the Winter, but combination in the Summer If I ever get oily, it is around my nose Hyperpigmentation from previous acne scars Occasional pimples, usually on the chin area Now that we’ve got that covered, lets hop on over to the foundation itself. Right off the bat, the Fit Me Matte and Poreless from Maybelline has an impressive array of shades, and makes just as impressive claims. Here is what the foundation claims to do for your skin: 24 shades available Goes beyond skin tone matching to fit the unique texture issues of normal to …

The New Beauty Basics: Glossier.

(Click Here for 20% off Your Glossier Order!) I don’t know about you, but for me makeup is all about phases. Sometimes I’m in a glam phase, sometimes a girly phase, sometimes a minimalist phase. And right now? Right now I’m in a Glossier phase. A relatively new brand, Glossier is the off shoot makeup brand of the popular beauty site intothegloss.com. It is this concept that drew me into Glossier to begin with. Why you ask? Because that means that the products created are all brainchildren of beauty lovers. It means that the people behind the company have a true admiration for the beauty industry, and are dedicated to introducing well thought out, quality products to their consumers. The basics behind Glossier are this: Their main focus and main concern is (as everybody’s should be) skincare. In their introductory “Phase 1” collection, Glossier released a slew of gentle and hydrating skincare products guaranteed to give you a glow. Products included were: The Milky Jelly Cleanser The Soothing Face Mist The Priming Moisturizer The Perfecting Skin …

Worth the Hype? L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation REVIEW!

It’s time for another foundation review! Though it’s not a new product, the hype for the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation has been explosive over this past year, so obviously I had to test it out… First up, let’s get you acquainted with my skin sitch … Very Pale (I almost always purchase the fairest foundation shade in a collection) Extremely dry in the Winter, but combination in the Summer If I ever get oily, it is around my nose Hyperpigmentation from previous acne scars Occasional pimples, usually on the chin area Because my skin suffers from severe dryness in the Winter months, I figured that the Summertime heat would be the perfect opportunity to test out this “Pro Matte” Foundation! Some of the claims that L’Oreal makes about this fan favorite foundation include: 11 Shade Options 24 Hour Wear Time Air-light Texture with a Demi Matte Finish Absorbs Sweat and Oil without Disturbing the Coverage or Finish Medium Coverage Starting off with the shade, I think that this actually is a decent match for …

Undetectable or Majorly Regrettable: Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Foundation Stick REVIEW

Because I haven’t done a foundation review in a while, I thought I would pick up with a popular trend in beauty at the moment: stick foundations. With products such as the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation, and the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick filling the high end market, I thought I would try out an option that is more accessible to those of us on a tight budget. After doing my research on different alternatives (which are fairly scarce in the drugstores) I settled upon the Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Foundation Stick. Exclusive to Target, this foundation retails for 10.99—which, in my opinion, is the maximum price a drugstore beauty product should ever go. With hopes set high due to the steeper price tag, I was freakin’ READY to find a dupe for the oh so elusive MUFE HD Stick Foundation. Unfortunately, my expectations fell flat. Let’s start off with the claims: “This multi-tasking foundation, packaged in a portable stick, glides on to perfect skin tone and absorb excess oil, leaving skin with …

MAJORLY Underrated Beauty Products

    1. Lorac Alter Ego Lipgloss: When you think of your ideal lipgloss, you think buttery, creamy, not sticky and highly pigmented. What else do you think? Impossible to find. With thousands upon thousands of different lipglosses with different formulas and different colors, finding the perfect tube can be a daunting task. Luckily for you, that’s why you have me. By far the best lipgloss I have ever tried is the Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss. And while this product checks all the boxes, I am shocked that I don’t hear more about them. With a wide variety of shades and unique colors, the Alter Ego Lipgloss is rich in pigment, comfortable on the lips, and smells like a vanilla cupcake. It truly doesn’t get better than that. So for all of you still on the hunt for your perfect lipgloss, I suggest jumping on the Alter Ego bandwagon.   2. Benefit Bigger than BB Big Easy Liquid to Powder Foundation: Next up is an older product that is one of my makeup bag …

Summer Makeup-Bag Must Haves

Coola Mineral Face SPF30 Unscented Matte Tint: I cannot repeat this enough. EVERYONE NEEDS SPF. I know we all strive for a sun-kissed, goddess look during the warmer months, but there are other ways to achieve that without wrecking your skin. While many SPFs have a nasty tendency to break out people with very sensitive skin (ahem ahem, me), the Coola Mineral Face SPF30 is specifically designed to be a face friendly, moisturizing SPF that won’t cause any pesky reactions. And it smells like cucumbers. Yum.   Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (Moonstone): I know, I know. You’ve already heard about how fantastic the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors are about a million times. But when the sun comes out, the shimmer must come out as well. I love using this liquid illuminator under my foundation to get that “lit from within” glow, but this multitasking product can also used on top of foundation as a good old fashioned highlight.   NYX BB Cream: This BB cream is an absolute work of art. Period. With light (but …
