There’s nothing quite as satisfying as a holy grail makeup product that costs next to nothing. While I definitely enjoy the occasional splurge, I’m still a lover of a good steal, so today I thought I would compile a list of a few of my favorite goodies that can be found at the drugstore. With grade A quality and a price tag that won’t leave your paycheck crying, here are some products that have a whole lotta bang for your buck:
NYX BB Cream: I’ve already mentioned this a number of times on my blog but it deserves the attention so here I go again. By far the best BB Cream at the drugstore, the NYX BB Cream is a medium coverage base with a perfectly natural finish. It evens out the skin beautifully without ever looking heavy or overdone. This is probably one of my favorite products to wear in the Summer since it’s so lightweight, and is for sure on my Top 3 Foundations list, drugstore OR high end.
Wet n’ Wild MegaGlo Makeup Sticks (Highlight + Blush): I know not everyone is a fan of cream products, but I personally love a good stick product for it’s ease of use and natural finish. Some of my favorite products at the drugstore, that I never hear anyone talk about, are the Wet n’ Wild MegaGlo Makeup Sticks. A stick product available in conceal, contour, highlight and blush shades, I have grown a deep affection for the highlight in the shade 008 and blush in the shade. What I find distinctive about these stick products is the fact that they are slightly drier in formula, meaning they won’t slide off your face throughout the day and instead will leave a perfect tint on the cheeks. If you’re looking to dabble into the world of stick makeup, I would recommend these as a starting point due to their flawless application and even more flawless price tag.
Soap and Glory Volu-Boost Brow Gel: I’m a pretty low maintenance gal when it comes to the everyday brow look, so finding a quick and easy way to give my brows some natural bush is pretty much my lifes mission. While brow gels are my favorite way to achieve a natural and fluffy brow, I’m not about to spend excessive amounts of money on tiny tubes of product. That’s where the Soap and Glory Brow Archery Volu-Boost Brow Gel comes in. Pretty much a replica of the oh so famous Benefit Gimme Brow, this gel comes in an itty bitty tube with an equally itty bitty wand perfect for gripping every last hair. What makes this special for an affordable brow gel is the fiber infused formula—which latches onto your natural brows and deposits tiny hair like fibers to give you a bolder look. Another great option is the Essence Make Me Brow, which I love as well but has far fewer shades available—none of which are especially universal.
NYX No Filter Powder: As somebody with Sahara dry skin, powders aren’t usually products that call my name, but is necessary for blending out blush, contour, bronzer etc. I’ve had a tricky time finding a powder that would work on my skin, but have found the NYX No Filter Powder to be the best. With a silky smooth texture and an almost radiant finish, this product is perfect for setting my makeup without caking up my face.
I hope you enjoyed reading about some products that I think deserve some more hype! If you try these out be sure to stop by and let me know your thoughts. And don’t forget to let me know which beauty products you think are underrated down below 🙂
Have a great day,
