Bermuda, Bahama, Come on Pretty Bronzah: Physicians Formula “Butter Bronzer” Review

PALE GIRLS REJOICE! Yep, you heard it from the ghost girl herself. I am happy to confirm that I have finally found my perfect bronzer.

With the new season upon us, beauty brands have been popping out new collections and products left and right. Because we’re finally hitting the season of sunshine, both drugstore and high end brands have been focusing their new collections on being bronzy, glowy, and beachy- with no complaints from me.

However, with new Spring/Summer collections, it tends to be difficult for us fair folk to find products that won’t turn us into oompa loompas. But for any of you who have been craving a glow, there is one new product that is perfect for you.

Physicians Formula, a drugstore brand (that, admittedly is a bit more pricey) has recently released their new summer staple bronzer- the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer.

I picked this up after watching Kathleen Lights rave about the color and consistency on her channel. Because I am so fair, I actually tend to shy away from bronzers, but I’ve been craving a bit of a glow lately and decided to give this a shot. And oh hot damn am I happy I did.

Infused with Murumuru Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Tucuma Butter, the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is packed with essential fatty acids and pro-vitamins which claim to soften, condition and moisturize the skin. While I’m not sure how beneficial this product actually is to the skin, I truly believe that the blend of butters in this bronzer help to create a mind blowingly creamy, smooth, and buttery formula that glides onto the skin and makes it look silky soft. It should also be noted that this hardcore smells like a Pina Colada. I personally love the coconuty scent and the beachy vibes, but if you are sensitive to smell, you should probably take a whiff before purchasing.

And as much as I love the formula, my favorite thing about this bronzer is the tone and the pigmentation. As I previously mentioned, I have extremely fair skin- which tends to make most bronzers look exceptionally orange and overtly warm. While the Butter Bronzer by no means has a cool undertone, it isn’t at all too warm. I would consider this to have a perfect neutral undertone that would be flattering on anyone who has fair to light-medium skin tones. If you have a darker complexion, I highly doubt this powder would make a noticeable difference.

The pigmentation is another thing I adore about this bronzer. I find it would be incredibly difficult to go too overboard and make yourself look muddy due to the fact that this is a very sheer, soft bronzer that adds more of a bronzy sheen than anything else.

Overall, despite the fact that it’s from the drugstore, I think I can say that this is probably my favorite bronzer of all time. What with the neutral undertone, the blendable formula, and the beachy scent, I think that this is gonna be a bronzer hard to beat.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my thoughts on the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer everyone! As always, if you have any questions just leave them down below and I’ll be sure to get back to you 🙂

  1. Great post love this bronzer! I’m so fair after winter time and it’s nice to be able to still get a bronze look without being orange haha!
