A Guide to Enhancing Your Natural Beauty

Makeup is a magical thing. It can change the way you are looked upon, but more importantly it can change the way you look upon yourself.

What makes me love makeup is that makeup makes me love myself. I can have a list of things that I despise about the way I look, yet with 5 minutes, a mirror, and a handful of products, the things I once hated turn into things I love.

While anyone getting into makeup should take caution- makeup can become incredibly addicting- you should also know that it can make you appreciate things about yourself you never thought possible.

That being said, I have found a go-to routine that I find enhances not only my natural beauty, but my confidence as well…

STEP 1: Foundation. Growing up with severe cystic acne, my skin has always been the number one thing to knock down my confidence. That being said, I have always struggled with wearing anything but a full coverage foundation. However, my skin has recently been clearing up and the Makeup Forever Face and Body Foundation has been my savior. This is a sheer to buildable water based gel foundation that is a miracle in a bottle when it comes to evening out your skin tone. Incredibly long lasting and drying to a satin finish, this foundation is your skin but better.

STEP 2: The Rimmel Match Perfection concealer is a perfect product for enhancing anybody’s natural beauty. This 2 in 1 concealer is ideal for highlighting the under eyes and down the center of the face. Overall, a few dabs of this instantaneously fixes fatigue, and brings your face back to life.

STEP 3: To make sure that concealers stays bright all day, there is nothing better than adding a light dusting of the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. This is a transparent, weightless powder that is meant to maximize the wear and coverage of the makeup underneath. And on top of making your makeup last longer, this powder is infused with light reflecting pigments in order to keep you looking bright and awake all day long.

STEP 4: This is a totally optional step, but I will admit it makes a world of a difference. I personally can’t live without a little contour in my life, and what I have been loving lately is the NYX blush in taupe. This is a perfect, ashy brown shade that can carve out the natural hollows and curves of your face flawlessly. There is no need to use a heavy hand with the contouring, but by adding a little bit of this product to structure your face, your natural features get enhanced by a million.

STEP 5: When trying to achieve a natural look, cream products are ideal. My favorite blush for when I’m trying to look naturally rosy and flushed is the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in the shade Pale Pink. Used with a light hand, this cream based formula perfectly mimics the look of your cheeks on a cool winter day.

STEP 6: In order to get a radiant glow, I suggest trying out the Elf baked highlighter in Moonlight Pearls. This product beautifully highlights the skin with a sheer wash of shimmering color, and gives you a beautifully healthy glow.

STEP 7: While I’m a sucker for the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade, on more natural days there is nothing better than the NYX Micro Brow Pencil. This has a waxy consistency that makes it almost impossible to overdo your brows, and it gives you the full feathery look we are all looking for.

STEP 8: Because this is a quick, natural beauty enhancing look, there is no need to go crazy with the eyeshadow palettes. Instead, my favorite thing to do is use the same contour and highlight shades to amp up my eyes. By fluffing the contour shade into your crease, and the highlighter all over the lids, you will immediately get quick definition and brightness to your eyes.

STEP 9: And the best way to make you look more naturally beautiful? Just add a couple coats of mascara! One of my all time favorite mascaras is the Maybelline Lash Sensational. With 2 different brush lengths (one side short and once side long) you are able to get the wand all the way from the base of your lashes, while still being able to separate them for a flawless fanned out look.

STEP 10: The last step of my natural beauty enhancing makeup routine is to find that perfect “my lips but better” shade. In my case, my favorite product to achieve this is the Bite Beauty Lip Tint in the shade Lychee. This stunning pinky nude delivers long lasting color, but with a soft glossy finish. And not only does it make you look good, it makes you feel good as well by working to soothe and soften your lips. An absolute must.

That’s it for my natural beauty routine guys! It’s really simple and is what makes me love and appreciate myself most. I hope this helped you in finding a routine that makes you feel your best as well!

Have a wonderful day,

-Love, Lieve
