Love it or Leave it: The Tartelette Palette

TARTE TARTELETTE PALETTE 2 16214916506_db4eff5c63_b

When I first set eyes on this palette, I remember thinking “Hmm, those are nice colors but how exciting can an all matte palette really be?”

The answer? REALLY FREAKING EXCITING.

Let’s start off with packaging.

Could this be more beautiful? (Insert Chandler Bing voice here)

Honestly, in my opinion, this is probably the sleekest, classiest, all around best packaging I have ever seen on a palette. Nice, compact, and slender, this is an incredibly travel friendly, storage friendly product that wouldn’t be a fuss to deal with. With stunning purple ombre casing, and the classic gold Tarte lettering, this packaging really encapsulates the brand in my eyes. It’s young, it’s fresh, and it’s timeless. Big A+ to the designers of this palette.

Featuring 12 exclusive Amazonian Clay matte shadows, the Tartelette Palette definitely leans towards the cooler side of life. With 3 rows of 4 complementary shadows, this palette really makes it easy to whip up a simple look.

The first row includes neutral everyday browns; the second includes dusty purple mauves; and the third includes smoldering greys and blacks. The benefit of this color coordinated system is that while you can stick with one row at a time for a look, the consistency of cool tones throughout the palette allows you to easily mix and match. The versatility of this palette gives you the opportunity to play around with all kinds of looks- from simple and everyday to deep and smokey.

Like the rest of Tarte’s Amazonian Clay products, these shadows are some of the most long lasting I have ever experienced. Now, I’m not saying that you don’t need to wear a primer when using this, but I am saying that if you want colors that stay true throughout the day, then you need this palette.

Incredibly pigmented and rich in color, the Tartelette palette is something that I reach for everyday. Literally. Everyday.

Even if you feel like playing around with shimmers or pigments from other palettes, having the Tartelette palette laying around is genuinely a phenomenal resource for any makeup lover. Should you not want to use it for an all matte look, it’s still nice to know that if you ever need a quick crease color you can just open up your drawer and grab this.

As a quick wrap up…

This is an amazing product that I would recommend to anybody and everybody. It’s perfect for an everyday basis, and has colors that allow my brown eyes to pop. This has quickly become my most used palette, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Bravo, Tarte. Bravo.

I hope you enjoyed that quick little review on Tarte’s Tartelette Palette. Feel free to ask any questions regarding this beautiful piece of makeup below.

I hope you are all having a fantastic day!

Love, Lieve

  1. I’m the same way, an all matte palette just doesn’t seem like I can do much with it, but that’s mostly because whenever I try matte shadows, they just blend into my skin…and they end up not visible, which is weird. How pigmented are these?

    • This palette has by far the most pigmented matte shadows I’ve ever used. I know it doesn’t seem like it when you first see it but this is one of the most versatile palettes I have! It’s an absolute must have in my book 🙂
