My September Favorites!

Another month gone, another month of makeup hoarding! But a good kind of hoarding! Right? Well I think I’m right…

This month I have had the chance to discover a ton of new beauty products that I have fallen absolutely in love with! I’m not going to lie, I’m usually a girl who sticks with what she knows- classics can never fail! But recently I have been branching out and decided to share with you guys what new products (at least to me) I have been loving in the month of September. Just a warning- this is gonna be a long post. So grab some popcorn and lets get to it!

The first products I need to mention are the oh so popular Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips! After watching dozens of reviews and swatch videos on YouTube, I decided to splurge (jk they’re only 6 bucks a pop) and try them out for myself! If any of you guys read/watched the reviews like I did, you’re probably aware that there are very, very, mixed opinions on them. And to be completely fair and honest- there are mixed reviews for a reason. To jump straight to the point- yes, they are extremely drying. However, in retrospect, the positives outweigh the negatives. First of all, they are SIX DOLLARS! SIX! And along with being only 6 bucks, if you are a new Colourpop client, you can use the code THANKSBABE for 5 dollars off you order- that makes one lippie 1 dollar, or you consider it free shipping! Overall, they’re cheap, they’re insanely pigmented, there are 33 incredible colors, and they’re long lasting. If you’re like me and don’t mind the fact that they’re a bit drying on the lips, you will absolutely love these products, and I highly recommend

The next product I have been loving in the month of September is the 100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream. This is something that I received in my September Birchbox, and I have NOT BEEN ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN. This is a perfect product for those mornings that are filled with puffy eyes, and dark circles. As soon as I put this under my eyes in the morning, my dark circles instantly subside, and I generally look more awake and refreshed! And my favorite part? It smells just like a cup o’ Joe!

The third product for the month is a setting powder. This is actually a more recent find, but I haven’t been able to put it down since I’ve gotten it. And that is, the Elf HD Setting Powder. A finely milled translucent powder, this is perfect for setting concealed/highlighted areas on the face- a technique also known as baking. After blending my concealer, I put a liberal amount of this powder on the concealed area and let it sit for a couple minutes. After allowing the products to bake, you sweep off the powder and reveal an airbrushed looking face. Not only does this powder make my makeup last all day long, it’s also a plus for us fair girls. I cannot tell you how hard it is for me to find powders that are light enough or ACTUALLY translucent that will work on my face. This really has saved the day for me and helps me look nice and bright in all the right places. And its 6 dollars! Can’t beat that.

Ok, so I know this is becoming pretty long so I’ll try to keep the next few things brief.

Next up is the Acure Lip Lush (I have mine in the shade Birthday Suit). For anyone who struggles with dry, chapped lips- this is your dream. Enriched with Argan Oil and Edeilweiss stem cells, this Lip Lush is more like an oil than a gloss. While it does provide a soft hint of color, the thing that I love about it is that it absorbs into my lips and instantaneously plumps, hydrates, and repairs them. A winter must for sure.

The last couple of products I’m going to mention in my September Favorites are face products, so lets go in order of how we apply them.

First up is a head-scratcher. But any fan of NikkiTutorials on YouTube will understand this product. With that warning, my favorite primer this month has 100% been the Nivea Men’s Sensitive Skin After Shave Balm. Weird, I know. With the main ingredient being glycerine (which Nikki mentions all the time), this is what allows products to stick to your face. My foundation has never lasted longer. Also being acne prone, considering this is made specifically for sensitive skin, it hasn’t broken me out at all- which many primers do. Also, 3 ounces for 8 dollars! Can you say, yes please?

Okay, we are finally here. The last product. I’d like to thank my friends, my family, and all those who survived this post. It’s time to talk foundation.

I don’t know about you guys, but where I live, September has been HOT. H-O-T HOT. And even though I’ve got the driest skin imaginable, I struggled with the oh so attractive “melted makeup face” for most of the month. That is, until I started using this. And what is this amazing, meltless foundation you may ask? It’s the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint. Now this is a pricier product, but holy mother of crap is it worth it. Being a tinted moisturizer, it didn’t grab onto any dry patches on my face, and still kept me nice and hydrated while giving the appearance of a natural to demi matte finish. And best of all, in my opinion, is that it is FULL COVERAGE. Like seriously full coverage. Full on full coverage. All in all, if you are a dry girl who wants nice coverage and a semi matte finish, this is a great product for you.

Ok everyone, that’s it for my (very long and rambling) September Favorites! If you have any questions on any of the products I mentioned, feel free to ask down below! I hope you all had a great September and have a splendid October 🙂

-Love, Lieve
